Join us for a transformative evening at Oxy Arts, where community, cuisine, and connection converge. On March 23rd, we'll gather to break bread with the Miry's List hive, including recently arrived families, our volunteers, and supporters, to celebrate the resilience, talents, and culinary traditions of our newest neighbors.
The evening will weave together the warmth of community with the rich flavors of homemade Syrian cuisine from talented chef Maysaa Kanjo from Homs, Syria - creating a space for reflection, connection, and compassionate understanding .
The Need Is Now | The need for community support for immigrants has never been more urgent. Refugee families arriving today face unprecedented challenges. The Federal government has dramatically reduced funding for refugee resettlement programs, leaving the Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) as the only remaining pathway for Afghan allies and their families. This means fewer caseworkers, reduced welcome funds for rent deposits, and minimal support for essentials that families desperately need to rebuild their lives. At Miry's List, we witness this reality daily and you can help us fill the gap where government support has come to a standstill.
Your contribution provides:
Welcome kits with hand-written welcome letters, baby essentials, clothing and more
Essential household items for families, including: beds, bedding, hygiene products, cleaning supplies, and clothing and baby supplies
Community connections that help new arrivals feel welcomed and supported
