Since our very first pop-up dinner in February 2017, New Arrival Supper Club has offered hundreds of guests the opportunity to bond with and learn from their resettling neighbors over the universal language of food.

What's the point of New Arrival Supper Club?
We believe that a welcoming country begins with welcoming neighbors.
It’s important for people to be of service, especially when they are going through challenging times and a lot of needs of their own. The experience of migrating as a refugee can be disheartening and even traumatic. Individuals and families can lose their sense of individuality, feel limited by societal stigmas and discrimination towards immigrants, lost, isolated and lonely. New Arrival Supper Club directly counteracts these hardships, by creating space and opportunity for resettling refugees in Los Angeles to participate and invest in the wellbeing of their new neighbors and creating a bridge Los Angeles community to meet people who have experienced resettlement as refugees. Though we may not share a spoken language, we have a shared human experience. We all seek out connections, we all rely on our neighbors, and a delicious meal not only nurtures the body, but the soul as well.
Why?
We believe that intentional, individualized, and intense support provided to resettling refugee families in those difficult first 12-18 months leads to better outcomes for the community at large.The work that Miry’s List does is an investment — in families, in human beings, in new Americans. It’s about investing in them upon arrival because the need is so great and the impact is so real.

We’re cooking up something special!
Miry's List has teamed up with Little Spread restaurant and Chef Ori Menache of Bestia, Bavel, and Saffy’s to offer a special spice kit of Middle Eastern flavors. Four spice varieties - Saffy’s Blend, Za'atar, Aleppo Pepper, and Sumac - come in reusable wide-mouthed jars for home chefs to explore transcendent flavors and scents while supporting new arrival families in need.
