HOSTED BY JENNA FISCHER Each November, Miry's List, a nonprofit organization serving over 350 families who have recently resettled in America,  recognizes leaders who have been impactful in making Los Angeles a more welcoming city for immigrants.

On the eve of the Summer Solstice, HRTS Associates LA will host their first annual gathering of members, guests and supporters to toast the new season, their new board and to spotlight the topic most top-of-mind among members this year: the migrant and refugee experience.

An afternoon of fun in northeast LA featuring music and food benefitting Miry’s List

Come to the Skirball for a Passover-themed evening in partnership with the nonprofit Miry’s List and explore the themes of freedom and redemption through food and storytelling.

Rabbi Sarah Bassin (Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills) will begin by relating the Jewish value of welcoming the stranger to both the Passover story and the experience of refugees today. Then, enjoy wine and an elaborate Syrian dinner infused with the symbols of Passover and prepared by a family who recently resettled in LA. Finally, listen as Evan Kleiman (KCRW’s Good Food) moderates a discussion with the chefs about their arrival stories.

Participant Media partners with New Arrival Supper Club to bring a culinary social impact experience to Participant Media staff for a delicious and unique afternoon to support our resettling neighbors through Miry’s List.

Get educated and empowered to help! Miry’s List is partnering with the Social Innovation Program at Sequoyah High School to help develop students’ empathy and desire to be thoughtful, effective changemakers.
